Small tremor of magnitude 3.4 just reported 37 miles northwest of Chase, Alaska, United States3.4 quake 20 Aug 3:48 am (GMT -8) Just 9 minutes ago, a 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Chase, Matanuska-Susitna, Alaska, USA. The tremor was recorded early morning on Saturday, August 20th, 2022, at 3:48 am local time, at an intermediate depth of 55 miles below the surface. The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it. A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.4 earthquake as well. A third agency, the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, reported the same quake at magnitude 3.4. According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Chase (pop. 34, 37 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
