Small tremor of magnitude 3.8 just reported 47 km southeast of Temuco, Chile

An intermediate magnitude 3.8 earthquake was reported early afternoon near Temuco, Cautín, Araucania, Chile.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the quake hit on Friday, December 30th, 2022, at 2:45 pm local time at an intermediate depth of 78 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake which listed the quake at magnitude 3.8 as well.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Villarrica (pop. 31,600, 24 km away), Pitrufquén (pop. 13,700, 25 km away), Freire (pop. 7,800, 27 km away), Loncoche (pop. 15,600, 31 km away), Pucon (pop. 27,000, 44 km away), Temuco (pop. 238,100, 47 km away), Panguipulli (pop. 16,300, 57 km away), Nueva Imperial (pop. 18,800, 63 km away), and Lautaro (pop. 21,600, 68 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
