Moderate earthquake of magnitude 4.3 just reported 17 miles northeast of McKinleyville, California, United States

A shallow magnitude 4.3 earthquake was reported after midnight near McKinleyville, Humboldt County, California, USA.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake hit on Friday, January 20th, 2023, at 12:01 am local time at a shallow depth of 16 miles. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
