on the Weekend (10/9/11) I had a very clear dream. I ahven't really taken time to figure it out yet.
I found myself in a vehicle with other people arricing at a building that seemed to be an educational facility, although later it proved to had an infirmary section as well.
The lighting was sort of twilight - overcast skies, but clearer at the horison. We were on a road above the building we had arrived at so that one had to go down hill to the building wich was built on a sloping hill-side.
From the road where we had stopped, it was possible to look out beyond the building at a valley. The valley ran west, and was filled with buildings - a town. Slightly to the right when looking west, was another hill beyond the one we were on which had some sort of factory or refinery.
I looked up and out of the vehicle window just in time to witness a large orange glowing meteorite of some sort land at the far end of the valley. I knew immediately that this could result in danger, and as we saw cracks appear in the ground, I encouraged everyone to get out of the vehicle quickly, as we would be able to move faster to get out of the way of danger like that. The cracks seemed to settle, and we entered the building. I can't remember much about it except that in was multi-storeyed, dark brick (rather uninspiring) and there seemed to be lecture rooms.
We came to a place where there was a balcony that looked out towards the west-running valley. I noted the factory on the hill to the swest of us, and realised that it had been damaged as a result of the meteorite. As I watched, I noticed smoke rising from it and then a river of what appeared to be burning oil coursed down the hillside running towards where we were at a tremendous pace. I was concerned that it would reach the building we were in, especially as at the bottom of our hill there was a river which was somehow incorporated into the building - running under it and used by it in some way, and I could well immagine the stream becoming a river of fire.
I made a decision and started telling everyone to evacuate the building. I sent one person to activate a fire alarm, and then found a bell rope, so started pulling it, only to find that there was no functional bell wherever the other end led to (a bell minus it's tongue, perhaps, because the feeling of pulling the bell rope was exacctly the weight one feeels if there is a bell to ring). I got everyone moving to the road above the building, and even moved people from an infirmary area. I then returned to assess the situation and check who was still inside.
It seemed that nothing much was coming of the pending fire, and I met with a couple of women who had high positions in the organisation. One was furious with me. She demanded to know how I could just go ahead and evacuation the building without following protocol and going over her head. She stood with her hands on her ample hips and shifted her weight from foot to foot as she berated me, resulting in her hips swaying. This amused me, and I found myself mocking her. I then said that I would do it all again if I had to because there had been potential danger and that if I wandered around trying to find the right people to notify before evacuating the building,it would be too late.
I woke up at this point.

Brilliant! As usual your dreams have so much meaning to me. Though it is your dream and totally yours to interpret and determine, I can say some of the things that I think about it... For one thing, in my dreams vehicles are symbols for the physical body. The other people in the dream are various aspects of the self with those in the vehicle probably as the most current and present aspects. The building may represent your current life and the structure of it - a place to learn and receive treatments. To me, the woman of authority with hands on (ample, ha ha) hips is one of your authority aspects. She is very bossy with such big hips in which to condescendingly place her hands. She is trying to warn you against using your intuition and to continue to defer to and rely solely on outside sources and the learning and belief systems hierarchy of this lifetime. These dream figures of authority seem to be parts of the ego, and the ego doesn't want to lose any of its authority, though the higher-self speaks from an eternity of knowledge through your intuition. To me, the west (where the sun sets) is symbolic of death, or rather, the passing from physicality and the fears attendant to this - "change". Though the scenario interestingly mirrors a coming disaster that many people are dreaming of (including me), with the meteorite and fire, etc., I think the main gist of the dream is about intuition vs. formal procedures. And I like the way you found the hip swaying to be amusing and that you felt good about having trusted your own instincts.

Thank you Alisa. I'd say that's pretty much spot on. I think it was important to me that I was the one in control of the whole event - or perhaps that's the wrong way to put it when everone is aspects of myself. I felt in control full stop.
It is indeed significant that I acted based on what I could see in the environement and did not defer authority to externals or rules as well.
I am tempted to be quick to add that there has always been an aspect of myself that acts according to the needs of a situation and not the rules and authority around me, but let's face it - I can also tow the line and ignore the signs very well!
I think this dream may be representative of a new level of autonomy.
