5.2 quake Iceland: 1.6 Km E of Keilir Jul 9, 2023 10:22 pm (GMT +0)

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake near Reykjavik, Reykjavíkurborg, Capital Region, Iceland, was reported only 19 minutes ago by the Icelandic Met Office (IMO), considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world. The earthquake occurred at a very shallow depth of 3.7 km beneath the epicenter late at night on Sunday, July 9th, 2023, at 10:22 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the United States Geological Survey, which listed it as a magnitude 5.1 earthquake. Other agencies reporting the same quake include the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) at magnitude 4.8, and the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake at magnitude 5.1.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should have been widely felt by almost everyone in the area of the epicenter. It might have caused light to moderate damage.
Moderate shaking probably occurred in Vogar (pop. 1000) located 13 km from the epicenter.
In Hafnarfjordur (pop. 26,800) located 17 km from the epicenter, Grindavik (pop. 2,900) 18 km away, Alftanes (pop. 2,400) 19 km away, Garðabaer (pop. 11,400) 20 km away, Kopavogur (pop. 31,700) 22 km away, Seltjarnarnes (pop. 4,300) 25 km away, Reykjavik (pop. 118,900) 25 km away, Mosfellsbaer (pop. 8,700) 33 km away, and Mosfellsbær (pop. 8,700) 33 km away, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
