Just 16 minutes ago, a 2.4-magnitude earthquake struck near La Estrella, Municipio de La Estrella, Antioquia, Colombia. The tremor was recorded late at night on Tuesday, August 1st, 2023, at 11:17 pm local time, at a very shallow depth of 0.1 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, the first seismological agency to report it.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in La Estrella (pop. 49,400) located 3 km from the epicenter.
