Small tremor of magnitude 3.2 just reported 39 km southwest of Skopje, North Macedonia

A magnitude 3.2 earthquake near Skopje, North Macedonia, was reported only 29 minutes ago by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world. The earthquake occurred at a very shallow depth of 0 km beneath the epicenter in the morning on Wednesday, October 18th, 2023, at 10:24 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by The Seismological Survey of Serbia (SSS), which listed it as a magnitude 3.2 earthquake as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake was probably felt by many people in the area of the epicenter. It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc.
In Stenče (pop. 280) located 2 km from the epicenter, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Bogovinje (pop. 15,200) located 7 km from the epicenter, Brvenica (pop. 16,300) 9 km away, and Vrapčište (pop. 8,700) 10 km away.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Gostivar (pop. 51,000) located 12 km from the epicenter, Zelino (pop. 25,400) 12 km away, Tetovo (pop. 72,900) 13 km away, Tearce (pop. 23,100) 22 km away, and Jegunovce (pop. 7,300) 24 km away. In Skopje (pop. 474,900, 39 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
