A magnitude 4.0 earthquake near Kingston, Jamaica, was reported only 21 minutes ago by The international "Ayiti-Séismes" project to detect quakes in the wider Haiti region, considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world. The earthquake occurred at a very shallow depth of 5 km beneath the epicenter early afternoon on Monday, October 30th, 2023, at 2:33 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
