Just 5 minutes ago, a 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck near Zhob, Zhob District, Balochistan, Pakistan. The tremor was recorded late at night on Sunday, December 3rd, 2023, at 11:22 pm local time, at an intermediate depth of 103.8 km below the surface.
The event was filed by India's National Center for Seismology (NCS), the first seismological agency to report it.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Tank (pop. 38,500) located 101 km from the epicenter, and Zhob (pop. 50,500) 114 km away.
