Russia was shaken near Kholmsk, Kholmskii, Sakhalin Oblast, by an earthquake of magnitude 5.0 only 21 minutes ago, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 10 km beneath the epicenter near Kholmsk, Kholmskii, Sakhalin Oblast, Russia, early morning on Saturday, January 20th, 2024, at 3:57 am local time. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
