Small magnitude 3.7 quake hits 40 km northeast of Limoges, France early morning3.7 quake 10 Aug 5:39 am (GMT +2) An earthquake of magnitude 3.7 occurred only 9 minutes ago 40 km northeast of Limoges, France, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported. The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 5 km beneath the epicenter near Limoges, Haute-Vienne, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France, early morning on Saturday, August 10th, 2024, at 5:39 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc. In Saint-Dizier-Leyrenne (pop. 870) located 2 km from the epicenter, the quake should have been felt as light shaking. Weak shaking might have been felt in Borgon Nuou (pop. 3,400) located 9 km from the epicenter.
