Just 22 minutes ago, a 2.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Kolambija, Richland County, South Carolina, USA. The tremor was recorded early evening on Sunday, September 15th, 2024, at 6:01 pm local time, at a very shallow depth of 2.4 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS), which listed it as a magnitude 2.7 earthquake as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 2.7.
