Just 7 minutes ago, a 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck near Mirina, Lesbos, North Aegean, Greece. The tremor was recorded in the morning on Saturday, October 19th, 2024, at 8:49 am local time, at a shallow depth of 10 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the National Observatory of Athens (NOA), the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from The Seismological Survey of Serbia (SSS) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.5. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 3.5.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Mirina (pop. 5,400) located 33 km from the epicenter. In Limenaria (pop. 2,500, 66 km away), Sarti (pop. 1,200, 67 km away), and Sykia (pop. 1,900, 70 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
