The Indian government grants a special exemption for Sabarimala pilgrims to carry coconuts in cabin baggage during the Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrimage till January 20, 2025. This decision aims to preserve traditions while maintaining safety and convenience. Previously, coconuts were restricted in cabin baggage and only allowed in small pieces in check-in baggage.
