Significant earthquake of magnitude 5.2 just reported 48 km northwest of Панфилов, Kazakhstan

An earthquake of magnitude 5.2 occurred only 9 minutes ago 48 km northwest of Панфилов, Kazakhstan, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 10 km beneath the epicenter near Панфилов, Panfilov District, Almaty Oblysy, Kazakhstan, late at night on Monday, November 25th, 2024, at 11:42 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 5.5.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake was probably felt by many people in the area of the epicenter. It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc.
In Панфилов (pop. 34,400) located 48 km from the epicenter, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Tekeli (pop. 26,700) located 75 km from the epicenter, Сарканд (pop. 76,900) 99 km away, Huocheng (pop. 360,000) 108 km away, and Taldykorgan (pop. 116,600) 117 km away.
