This false-color (bands M11-I2-I1) corrected reflectance image of a large bushfire north of Perth, Australia, was captured by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument aboard the joint NASA/NOAA NOAA-21 platform. The fire began about 200km north of Perth as a result of a car crash on Monday, November 25. It has burned through 68,250 acres of land, and approximately 200 firefighters are currently battling the fire. The fire is moving in a westerly direction and is threatening the coastal communities of Cervantes, Wedge, and Grey.
