This false-color (bands M11-I2-I1) corrected reflectance image of a large bushfire north of Perth, Australia, was captured by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument aboard the joint NASA/NOAA NOAA-21 platform. Press the blue "Play" button in the lower left corner of the image to view an animation of the spread of the bushfire from November 23 to November 28. The fire began about 200km north of Perth as a result of a car crash on Monday, November 25. It has burned through 68,250 acres of land, and approximately 200 firefighters are currently battling the fire. The fire is moving in a westerly direction and is threatening the coastal communities of Cervantes, Wedge, and Grey.
