Small magnitude 3.8 earthquake 50 km northwest of Udine, Italy

Just 2 minutes ago, a 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck near Udine, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy. The tremor was recorded early afternoon on Sunday, January 12th, 2025, at 2:51 pm local time, at a very shallow depth of 6 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake was probably felt by many people in the area of the epicenter. It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc.
