Significant magnitude 5.0 earthquake 121 km southeast of Pondaguitan, Philippines

The quake hit at a shallow depth of 10 km beneath the epicenter near Pondaguitan, Davao Oriental, Davao, Philippines, early morning on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025, at 4:51 am local time. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
