Brad Sigmon, 67, was executed by a firing squad in South Carolina, marking the first use of this method in the US in 15 years. Convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend’s parents in 2001, Sigmon chose the firing squad over electric chair and lethal injection due to fears of severe pain.
