Moderate magnitude 4.2 earthquake 56 miles southwest of Denali National Park, Alaska, United StatesAn earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred only 4 minutes ago 56 miles southwest of Denali National Park, Alaska, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported. The quake hit at a shallow depth of 10.1 miles beneath the epicenter near Denali National Park, Denali, Alaska, USA, around noon on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025, at 12:31 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.2 as well. Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Denali National Park (pop. 220) located 56 miles from the epicenter.
