The southwest monsoon arrived in Kerala on Saturday, eight days ahead of schedule, marking an early start to India's rainy season. Simultaneously, the monsoon reached Mizoram, significantly ahead of its normal date. Favorable conditions suggest further advancement across Goa, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and other northeastern states, potentially boosting early kharif sowing operations and aiming for record foodgrain output.
