Hello everyone

Im in melbourne and have an 85cm dish and a strong uni lnb.
Ive tried to pick up I701 but without any success due to the weakness of the signal.

Has anyone had any success using a standard dish (not fracarro) under 1m?

I use a 65cm in Sydney and works pretty well I701 puts out a decent signal you should be able to get it with the size dish you use as to what the footprint show

| |

thanks for the reply

I noticed that the footprint covers melbourne well.
maybe its a problem on my end.

I am running a 20m cable from the dish.
does this affect the signal strength once it reaches the reciever?

85 cm no problems in Melb. I hope you are using a correct Sat cable. 20 M cable I'm usng 40M with no problems of good quality RG6. Check the Skew of the LNBF, turn little left or right and check signal.

Well I think that the only issue with your setup is that you will need a Universal LNBF to be able to get that bird.LNBF 10.70--12.75. Good Luck

no, but i noticed your post on the channels offered on I701 and would like to see what is available FTA there.

Im currently watching pas8 where there are a few good channels on.

My favorite is tvchile(rojo music & girls), pink+, bn (music).
the quality of these are not very good though.
I understand they are retransmitted via the USA and reconverted from ntsc to pal.

Mate I'm using a 1.2 for 701 and it get shut off using a DB when it rains heavy. In QLD when it rains heavy a 1.8 will still drop out.

Phil a mate of mine in Brisbane with 90cm has never lost pics due to rain yet 75% signal 100% quality....Another here in Melbourne has a 1.2 and has the following on his Humax Level = 43%, Quality = 95% and never experience rain fade either....

so i find it very strange to hear you say a 1.2 or a 1.8 would drop out up there....
