Magnitude 4.5 earthquake strikes near Labuha, South Halmahera Regency, North Maluku, Indonesia

Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported a magnitude 4.5 quake in Indonesia near Labuha, South Halmahera Regency, North Maluku, only 24 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early evening on Saturday, October 18th, 2025, at 7:12 pm local time at a shallow depth of 10. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
