Elevated fire weather conditions are already occurring in southeast Wyoming, with elevated and locally critical conditions expected through the afternoon ahead of a cold front. Locally elevated conditions remain likely to occur along portions of the Front Range, but no changes were made to the forecast as it remains on track. Please see the previous discussion for more details.

.PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 1150 PM CDT Sat Nov 01 2025/
...Synopsis... Elevated fire-weather conditions are anticipated today across portions of eastern Wyoming into western Nebraska and far-northern Colorado. Additional Elevated fire-weather concerns exist over portions of central Montana.
...Wyoming into Colorado/Nebraska... Sustained dry downslope winds of 20+ MPH out of the west-northwest, combined with 15-20% relative humidity, will support at least Elevated fire-weather conditions. Though meteorological conditions could reach Critical criteria, fire-weather concerns are mitigated by an overall lack of receptiveness of fuels to wildfire ignition and spread at this time.
...Central Montana... Strong northwesterly surface winds of 25-30 MPH, with gusts up to 50 MPH, are forecast across portions of central and eastern Montana. However, minimum relative humidity is expected to remain around 20-25% with generally cooler surface temperatures. Though relative humidity is a limiting factor, fine dead fuels will support at least Elevated highlights at this time.
