Magnitude 4.4 earthquake strikes near Managua, Departamento de Managua, Nicaragua

Just 22 minutes ago, a 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Managua, Departamento de Managua, Nicaragua. The tremor was recorded late at night on Monday, December 15th, 2025, at 10:55 pm local time, at an intermediate depth of 81.62 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS), which listed it as a magnitude 4.4 earthquake as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 4.4.
