Small 2.4 quake hits near Columbia, Richland County, South Carolina, USA An earthquake of magnitude 2.4 occurred only 10 minutes ago 12 miles west of Columbia, South Carolina, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported. The quake hit at a very shallow depth of miles beneath the epicenter near Columbia, Richland County, South Carolina, USA, around noon on Thursday, February 26th, 2026, at 12:17 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
