Moderate earthquake of magnitude 4.8 just reported 85 km northeast of Surigao, Philippines

A shallow magnitude 4.8 earthquake was reported in the morning near Surigao, Surigao del Norte, Caraga, Philippines.
According to the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, the quake hit on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026, at 10:26 am local time at a shallow depth of 10. km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
