Small magnitude 3.2 quake hits 12 km south of Forlì, Italy early morning A magnitude 3.2 earthquake near Forlì, Province of Forlì-Cesena, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, was reported only 18 minutes ago by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), considered one of the key international agencies that monitor seismic activity worldwide. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 21.80 km beneath the epicenter early morning on Monday, June 1st, 2026, at 1:51 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. A second report was later issued by Italy's National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), which listed it as a magnitude 3.2 earthquake as well. A third agency, The Seismological Survey of Serbia (SSS), reported the same quake at magnitude 3.4. Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Meldola (pop. 7,000) located 2 km from the epicenter, Forlì (pop. 116,700) 12 km away, Cesena (pop. 97,100) 16 km away, and Faenza (pop. 41,700) 24 km away. In Ravenna (pop. 80,900, 36 km away), San Marino (pop. 4,500, 37 km away), Imola (pop. 70,000, 38 km away), Rimini (pop. 148,700, 42 km away), and Bologna (pop. 394,800, 71 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
