Thunderstruck - From reading your post, I think you may have changed the Tarbs tv-output from (originally?) channel 45, to channel 29 - What that means is that you may now have to re-tune the tv from Channel 45 to channel 29 - In otherwords, what was once the TARBS tv channel position on your TV has been altered. Have you noticed any interference on SBS -Ch 28, assuming that's the channel it broadcasts on, in your area??, since you seem to think you changed TARBS tv-out menu item to broadcast on Ch 29.

Best option is is to simply power up your old TARBS box again and do a complete scan search of channels on your tv to see what TV channel you actually retuned your tarbs box to.

Hope that helps.

ummm daaaaa, hello Sir

Obviously you can tell I'm a newbee to this forum. If i new what a STU or a decoder was I wouldn't be here sending an SOS signal now would I. I would go and fix the dam thing my self.

by the way, i did push that magic button called the "reset" button. Still no signal.

Regards,
Thunder

P.S. are you sure that their is no X TARBS programs running, i've been told that theirs Turkish and spanish channels :S

.... no problem Thunderstruck - I'm happy to help.
Now, in case you haven't already done so, to get rid of the intereference problem on SBS, it means you have to re-set the TARBS TV-OUT (via the tarbs installation menu screen, BACK to channel 45 THEN re-tune your TARBS channel position on your TV to that same channel (ie CH45, or whatever, as long as it is the same as the 'TV out' channel number that you set via your TARBS menu page.

Good Luck - But, of course, once everything is back to normal, theres nothing but coloured bars to watch for now if your dish is still pointed to PAS 8

Sorry, Thunderstruck - my last response was based on my assumption that you had successfully re-tuned to TARBS, and we seemed to be writing posts at the same time

A simpler and alternate method is hook everything up via Audio Video leads - ie AV OUT from TARBS to AV- IN at the back of your TV - The TARBS screen / menu/ coloured bars etc, SHOULD be visible when you tune your tv to its AV channel, and of course the TARBS box should be switched on - if not ...well, there may be other probs.

As a matter of interest, are your orange and green lights lit up on the front of your TARBS box - at least that way you know the box is active and not dead. This method should at least ensure your tarbs decoder box-to-tv connections are ok.

Remember when you first subscribed to tarbs they gave you a booklet of the setting of the box, what i would suggest is that if you can manage to see the menu adjust the old settings note: on that booklet it says do not do force remote or map channels there is no harm in that i've done it and you have to do it so that it can save your new settings but if its a matter of not being able to see the settings menu i would suggest what other freinds did check all your cable connections

Database is only empty if you have the settings wrong or you are not on the correct satellite.

Check your settings for:

Freq: 12674
Symbol Rate: 28066
FEC: 3/4
LNB Power ON

If your settings are correct then check alignment of dish.

Thnks for your reply guys.about the dish,
I didn't touch anything the dish was working fine just I pressed channel mapping in the remote control then everything is gone. I had a group of channel which I like them mostly were arabic channels. the dish still is the same direction as the tarbs technician did it.So the problem is the decoder. another thing if this wont work again what do you suggest?, is there any cheap and good decoder that I can setup easily.

You sure you checked the settings properly? The STB might have gone to the frequency of 12526 and Symbol Rate of 28066.

Check signal quality levels. I am sure that once you lock on to the signals the channels will come back.

Did you move your dish to Optus B3 or is your dish still in the same position from the TARBS days?
