The Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court withdrew a case from Justice Mahabir Singh Sindhu after receiving complaints, citing the need to protect the institution's and the judge's reputation. A new bench, including the Chief Justice, was formed to expedite the decision and address the controversy. The move was objected to by the petitioner's counsel.
