Small tremor of magnitude 3.4 just reported 35 miles northeast of Yalata, South Australia, Australia Geoscience Australia (GeoAu) reported a magnitude 3.4 quake in Australia near Yalata, South Australia, only 21 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early morning on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026, at 3:41 am local time at a shallow depth of 6.2 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.4 as well. A third agency, the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, reported the same quake at magnitude 3.4. According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Yalata (pop. 230, 35 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
