Moon Through Binoculars
I grabbed some nearly ancient binoculars we have to look at the moon and got the idea to position the camera over one of the eye pieces to try to capture a better view of the moon. It was kinda fun though the binoculars were quite heavy.
This is the result of the best image I captured. Again, it appears the moon is not round.

That's a nice photo considering what you did with the binoculars. I've always wondered if that would work. (They even sell binoculars that take pictures). It pays to experiment.
On a side note, I just fried the sd card on my camera by taking it out without "ejecting" it with the software properly. I had done this many times before and nothing had happened but this time it erased everything. Gone are several orb pics and Mother's Day pictures (my wife was not thrilled). This can happen to usb flashdrives too so be careful.

Thanks VBS. So you entertained the idea of using binoculars, too, eh. And I agree that it pays to experiment. Whenever a new idea occurs to me in taking photos and I indulge it, it usually opens yet another door of perception. Oh, and your side note has been heeded by me! I had on occasion forgotten to dismount my usb (and nothing happened), so it is good to know that it's important to remember to dismount! Sorry.

Thanks, OQ. It does look irregular, or as if part of it is missing, or something along that line.
