Ophir - The Man on Mars
During its examination of Mars, the Viking 1 spacecraft returned images of Valles Marineris, a huge canyon system 5,000 km, or about 3,106 miles, long, whose connected chasma or valleys may have formed from a combination of erosional collapse and structural activity. This synthetic oblique view shows Ophir Chasma, the northern most one of the connected valleys of Valles Marineris. For scale, the large impact crater in lower right corner is about 18.5 miles, or 30 km, wide... linkWhat is a "synthetic oblique view"?

Thank you! I'm glad you explained it in case it isn't clear to others. It looks like a profile of a head with mouth open. And yeah, it looks like you can see his trachea or somethin! Although it also makes me think of a pharoah's beard (which has lots of meaning in my visions and dreams), though it is set a bit far back for that probably.

You're welcome. I think it's really a curious formation.
