A Nasabot?
I'm probably breaking a copyright law with this photo because I snagged it from the forum side-bar in the Nasa TV area. It was so curious looking that I wanted to know more about it. I'd be most grateful for any info or links about this Nasabot in the photo that you may share with me. Alisa: Please delete this photo I've posted if it's breaking copyright laws. I'll understand.

I often see images on the NASA TV stream that peak my interest. I don't know what this robot image was about. Sorry. As for copyright, I believe when discussing issues that involve images that are copyrighted (particularly if no money is being made from said images) it is "fair" to use them. IMO, at worst, a copyright holder could ask for the image to be removed. In addition, from NASA site: NASA still images; audio files; video; and computer files used in the rendition of 3-dimensional models, such as texture maps and polygon data in any format, generally are not copyrighted. You may use NASA imagery, video, audio, and data files used for the rendition of 3-dimensional models for educational or informational purposes, including photo collections, textbooks, public exhibits, computer graphical simulations and Internet Web pages. This general permission extends to personal Web pages. I believe this stems from the fact that the government funds NASA, and government is funded by the public/taxpayers, so, in a sense, the images are paid for by the public and intended for their personal use and enrichment.

Thanks so much for that helpful info. It's good to know that we can legally use Nasa images for reference or discussion. The robot sure is a neat looking character.
