Exclusive contracts are quite common in the media industry, there's nothing illegal about them. They do cost a lot more money and UBI had every opportunity to snatch the best channels before anyone else but they failed to act quickly. Now they can only compensate by adding other channels of lesser value and hope that TV+, WMI, etc. go under.
