The 31st of October is known as Halloween, also known as, All Hallows, All Hallow�s Eve, Hallow E�en and Samhain. It is said it originated in Ireland.
Although generally celebrated by (mainly) children dressing up in spooky costumes and 'trick or treating', in their neighbourhoods, it is also celebrated by pagans as 'Samhain', and is thought to be the most magical night of the year, when the spiritual world can make contact with the physical world and when magic is most potent.
