Great links, Chris! :tsup: I found the film website of The Shift of the Ages very interesting. I have not done much research on the Mayans, only learning about it in bits and pieces as it crops up in my personal spiritual quest, so this helped fill in a few gaps.

I was particularly struck by this phrase from the site:

The Mayans state that this 4th period (our period) will die by fire and be reborn in a new, different, and more evolved form. This will be the beginning of the �Fifth Sun�.

Because of my various dreams I have had of a fire cleansing. The most recent being a dream within a dream on 02 October this year (from my journal):

I dreamed that I dreamed that I was given a revelation. The revelation was along the lines of the �end of civilization� being a big fire. To accept the fire would be to move freely and instantly into spirit and well-being, to fight the fire (out of fear) would be to live on in struggle and pain.

Apocalyptic scenarios scare me, but I find it eases my mind that I believe we are eternal (our souls) and can never truly "die". And because I have firm belief in reincarnation, I am fine to come back to a better place in a better body if that is the "go".

P.S. I am experiencing synchronicity since 02 October is my son's birthday, and he was born at 20:12, AND because within the above dream I also dreamed I went to my uncle's house overseas, who sychronistically sent me a letter I just received that was dated 02 October (so I dreamed I visited him at the very time he was composing the letter to me given the time difference). ahha
