Interesting question Dawn.  Here is my take on it. To answer this question specifically,I would need to know exactly what are you referring to as spirit? but... Water is a wonderful medium for spirit to be seen in. I have many photographs of different types reflected from/on/ and in it. I think for some types of spirit it is just another medium that is used to be seen.Other mediums will also be used for that purpose.
