I was not aware there was a lunar eclipse yesterday! But then I checked, and discovered it was not visible from my part of the world anyway. It is an interesting phenomena and I have witnessed it before and it was definitiely worth staying up for.
I am intrigued by your 'twisty' coloured light anomalies though, they remind me of little people jumping upwards from a trampoline, but out of focus. (haha - do you have a trampoline in your garden by any chance?)
