Scientists did some studies to see what some of the effects of reversing the earths magnetic fields would be. They chose homing pigeons because they believed that they use the earth�s magnetic fields for navigation. They placed a small magnet on the pigeons head to cancel out the earths magnetic field and guess what�? They had no scene of direction at all. If the magnetic poles reverse in our lifetime humanity will be devastated along with many other species.
