Well, it isn't the case that the poles are going to flip over night. It takes hundreds of years for the poles to flip over as they did very long ago.

As you can see the old locations of the pole in the past 150 or so years ago, the earth is presently working its way from the former reversal and is still presently working it's way to the true north pole.

So you can see, that we have some time, before it starts it's southern drift on the Russian side of the earth.

Again, it wont flip, over night. It is a very long process.

Presently it is moving only 15 km per year to the north. It takes 100,000 years or so, for the Earth to reverse the poles, and that is a very liberal value, as it has never done it during human times.

When it does flip, there is now ill effects on the planet or life on it. Cause of the earth, it does start turning the opposite direction or anything like that. It will rotate in the same direction as it all ways has for millions of years. The earth will still be tilted at 23 degrees and we still will get our seasons, whether we want winter or not.. smile
