Colin<br />This happened to my father 3 years ago because he is a arse and some of his doctors are the same.<br />What happened in one of his surgeries was a disgruntled secretary, (yes phil she was MALTESE too. Are you maltese all the same? VERY VINDICTIVE) photocopied private details about a patient which was a relation of this bitch and in her personal file was written that this bitch was a malingering whinger and other horrible things too.<br />Now before long my old man and the doctor got a summons to appear in court, I won't get into the details but my dad lost big time, she was paid mega $$$ compensation for the derrogatory remarks that were written in her personal file.<br />While the shit was still hitting the fan, my dad employed me to go through all the surgeries and check every folder of every patient. He also employed a lawyer to oversee this project.... this is how important it was. Trust me Colin, we found heaps. Too many doctors do it today, they think they are smart. It took a smarter person to photocopy the evidence and stick it to my old man.<br /><br />This Maltese bitch that did this, the first thing she did when she was employed by us was to find mud, yes mud that sticks against my old man, just in case one day she got sacked so she could retaliate. Although she was sacked and we tried to sue her, that failed.<br /><br />You are entitled depending on what state to view your records and if they don't allow you to view your records upon instant request, you can bet your bottom dollar there is a possibility that there are derogatory remarks in there against you and I do suggest that what my old man did with his croney doctors, they deserve everything they got. Also, if you ever do find out that they have done something that is not in the professional interest of the patient, sue the bastards!!!<br /><br />Just to let you all know, this is what happened last year and most principals of surgeries are ducking for cover over litigation madness. They had a conference run by a group of lawyers telling them and showing them how to hide their assets. You wouldn't believe it, my old man was there and so were hundreds of them just in Sydney alone and they tell you they are honest.<br /><br />At the moment, my father does not charge for file transfers and it will stay that way until further notice. <br /><br />Cathy
