Its only another way of sodomising the patients, to me its extortion and as Colin T said they have to charge you because the secretary has to carefully edit your medical record just in case one of the doctors has commented in a unprofessional way.<br />Regarding medical malpractice law suits in Australia do you know that women account for around 82% of them, so what does that mean if a male goes to see his doctor? He should get a discount because the doctor has less chance to get sued.<br />As for bulk billing here in our area in Melbourne the doctor I see still does. But because I am not a naturalised Australian yet(moved from South Africa over 12 months ago) I have to pay up front and regarding paying for you medical records back home in Johannesburg SA the answer is no.<br />The reason in SA some Doctors and lawyers are on the most hated list and since some of the peoples are so unlawful and there are as many weapons in SA as there is in Iraq I will let you draw your own conclusion what happens when some professions upset the general community.<br />Steve
