roy4hire should know this if he has the History channel.<br />The closer the American's got to Japan the more they suffered in casualties, the last Island before Japan cost them over 15,000 soldiers. They estimated that they could lose up to 250,000 soldiers invading Japan and the American public and Government didn't want that.<br />The Atom bomb saved American lives at the expense of the aggressor population.<br />Steve
