The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 3.1 miles beneath the epicenter near Tennant Creek, Barkly, Northern Territory, Australia, in the morning on Wednesday, March 5th, 2025, at 9:58 am local time. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
