Moderate earthquake of magnitude 4.4 just reported 60 miles southeast of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada Just 19 minutes ago, a 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. The tremor was recorded around noon on Sunday, October 26th, 2025, at 12:50 pm local time, at a very shallow depth of 3.1 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, the first seismological agency to report it.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Grande Cache (pop. 4,000) located 39 miles from the epicenter, and Grande Prairie (pop. 41,500) 60 miles away.
