The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026 results reveal a notable trend: fewer candidates have been shortlisted for both the Civil Services and Indian Forest Service (IFoS) Main examinations compared to last year. While 13,343 candidates qualified for the Civil Services Mains against 1,016 vacancies, only 1,046 cleared the screening stage for IFoS Mains against 80 vacancies. The decline highlights a tighter selection process and intensifying competition in India's premier recruitment examinations.
