Myself,

What is your "reliable source"?

TV Chile will be back on UBI. If you've got something to tell the people who are after TV Chile you might as well tell them instead of leaving cryptic clues.

Liski, I get your point, cryptic clues is just a bit of fun while I get confirmation to declare the news.

Never said tvc won't be back with UBI. My reliable source is a very high up person in TV Chile.

Like I said, I'll mention everything I know once the deal has been completed.

guys, please don't think I want to make it harder for everyone but as soon as the deal is over you will be the first to know.

If it helps, I have written the answer in one of my posts, don't stress too much if you can't work it out, the answer will be revealed shortly.

I have been advised not to make any public announcement until the parties involved shake hands, I have been told that they are working their hardest to get this happening before the end of the year.

Cheers and have a good weekend.

Also I have a real good connection in the High level inside of TVN and he said last night that U.B.I having serious difficulties in meeting the demands from the Television Nacional de Chile TVN. Due to old past with TARBS which for them is the same company and they want more securities of financial capabilities, they don’t want other fiasco that could be involve to TVN.

As well TVN are upset on the fees that UBI want to charge to the Chilean community $59.95. Due the TVN only wants $1.75 per each subscriber; we will see in the next 48 hours a final result with UBI. If all negotiations are not reach in an agreement. TVN will star talking with FOXTEL for the marketing of his international signal in Australia.

[ 18. December 2004, 07:25 AM: Message edited by: Bandido ]

Now for the rest of the members who have a genuine interest in TVC here are some updates;

Their website shows the following:
*************************************************

*************************************************

Basically they are saying that they are still in negotiations to have the signal back in Australia, there is still no outcome.
They also advice everyone not to pay for equipment or installation until they resolve the delivery of the signal, which will be announced in their website.

Ok,I can give you a bit more information, there is a new company in negotiation but is not Olisat or foxtel, is a new player on the block, and it will be delivered from another sat (not Optus B3), at this point I don't know if UBI will be able to keep the signal, some other information provided by Bandido is also true (price)

More to come soon.

Myself

[ 18. Dear Myself,

Let’s concentrate in the subject and tries to ignore the commentaries racist and if they like them please you can go to another forum to talk about it, here is only for exchange news about TVN
Thanks

This is the important subject.

Also I have a real good connection in the High level inside of TVN and he said last night that U.B.I having serious difficulties in meeting the demands from the Television Nacional de Chile TVN. Foxtel as mentioned by satfreak doesn't want any more foreign services because their strongest programming is English content and sports, although even with this they are struggling but that is another topic.

TVN will be back no doubt, not from UBI the way things are going (there is always a possibility) but from a different supplier.

[ 18. Dear, Satfreak,
Yes, please make your phone calls to FOXTEL and your will find a surprise on TVN.

In regards the content of TVN let me assurance that for FOXTEL it’ not a problem due that this an Ethnic channel for a determinate community as Chileans which is the biggest on Spanish language.

Marketing studies showing that for TARBS was representing a big part of revenues about of 15% of their 55.0000 of subscribers. Which 7500 multiply by $ 50 is $375.000 per month not to bad. Multiply by 12 months $4.500.000 per year. Interesting business do you think that for FOXTEL is not too bad?

And this inf is for you too Myself.

foxtel have said in the past if they get more ethnic channels they will be Arabic and Greek but Spanish is a long way away as the number or Spanish people in Australia is low compared to the ones above.

If they do get a Spanish channel most likly it will be one like Univion or Telemundo which are most popular in the US Market and with Directv which owns Foxtel

[ 18. Bandoto

Please dont take this the wrong way

I have no interest in viewing any Spanish content but I can confirm without a bit of doubt that Foxtel are not interested in any spanish content..

I know their intentions as one of my mates went in hard to FOXTEL for Turk content just after TARBS went under..

@ Bandido.....mate you can't get TVN from PAS8 3940H, 27690, 7/8 on Adhoc channel on a small dish, as everyone is saying that signal is on C-band, which means you need a huuuuge dish...I have a 3 m mesh dish for that sat at the moment...anyway it is only sound...no picture....but as phil said the signal has been there since july last year...so who knows whats happening...

[ 20.
