Reuder, What Liski means is your current sub is inflated artifically to start with so that later when UBI get around to adding English channels. They can claim you won't pay any extra for them.

Now now don't attack for stating the facts and accusing me of being negative about UBI cough cough

A pity you can't chose to pay $10 less then add those English channels later when they arrive down the track. Christmas?

Unfortunately TARBS backers didn't have influential ones like Foxtel does.. Foxtel is still making a loss. You don't see the banks calling it in...

Someone could probably confirm that the Tarbs subscription numbers really took off when English channels were introduced.

Hey isn't it great to see a pay tv company in Australia making a profit..

Well done Austar..

Obviously the banks are in a better business, CBA almost 4 billion profit.. Thats legitimate daylight robbery for you.

While everyone is complaining about high pay tv subscription fees maybe they should look closely at the banks fees and charges.

Yes I agree.
UBI will be the next Pay Tv company to make a profit.
Now that is a prediction but it could happen soon.
And for Foxtail?? Pigs will fly before they will make money. They need a typical pirate running a server to teach them some business tricks how to increase your Subscribers numbers by the hundreds and thousands.

vlad the moderator.

As a moderator you should know better.
It must only be this forum that when people cant argue the point they abuse personally the poster. To me that is a bit cop out.If craigs argument is weak then you make his argument sound week and you will be the better for it and so will I reading your point of view.

Yes i am a wog and proud of it.But I too have had releatives who have been burned by tarbs and i cannot forget how upset they where when they lost it for one, and how ANGRY they where when they lost the money they paid upfront.I dont want to see a repeat of this again.

I do get sick of the promises in here, yes coming soon, we have this we have that and all the other bulldust that goes on between ALL the providers.

Maybe as a moderator you should do a new forum that has facts! only.

As a wog I hope when someone picks up the greek channels and offers us a resonable price, then their might be something to crow about.

Till that happens can you blame people getting bitchy, angry at these providers for been all talk and no action.

mixo

mixo reeeee,

People being bitchy, I have no problem with. Most of us have been burned by the collapse of TARBS. The reason for this has been argued to death now. Who was right, who was wrong...blah, blah.
I don't want to go into it again, just to say it takes heaps of money and time to bring up a pay TV service for such a diverse profile of population. UBI has been nothing, if not fair about squaring the bill of old TARBS customers (except for the Italians, which got the better end of the deal in the first place ). UBI is allowing its customers, and anyone else for that matter, to view their un-finalised packages, free of charge. They have nearly completed the building of base stations in Europe (Macedonia and Greece). Just take a guess how much content will come from those places, straight to us here Down Under?
This is a UBI forum where people come to hear, what they can, about when they can expect their content and other similar info.
It doesn't need Craig to keep spewing out sly remarks about B1 falling out of the sky, B3 taking over B1's content and UBI closing their doors (and other similar cheap shots). This affects us potential customers, creating needless worry about, once again loosing every connection we had to our "piece of home".

Vlad...

mixo and all above including UBI hating apsattv Enough is enough.

Mixo!! you have offended me.
The difference between myself and others is I don't talk to the office girl or office boy at UBI Nor I talk to liski except to get an accurate channel line up. The People I talk to are all up the family tree right up the top where you can't go on any further.
You will get your Greek channels, The Teleport is nearly finished but If I told you why there is a delay and the reasons you might be offended. Put it this way you would find them similiar to what happened to finish the Olympics Construction, Workers had to be imported from everywhere outside Greece. I'm not saying more you work it out.

Vlad B1 being replaced by B3 was a totally valid comment. Sky NZ said they had gained access to back up capacity if B1 failed time frame given was within 10 weeks. They announced this to the NZ sharemarket.

I asked John Fellet Boss of Sky, he said they had arranged with Optus Backup capacity but he didn't know the details.

Just the facts at the time. B3 replacing B1 would of meant major chaos! it seems they are crossing their fingers about 9 months to go. As D1 has been reported as not going up before May 2006

apsattv
We are not all fools here you know, some of us do know you would have enjoyed every bit of it if it did ever happen.
What I can't understand is why you show such a hatred for TARBS now UBI. You very rarely say anything against the other pay tv companies whatsoever.

yes i will admitt i would of loved to see Sky Nz go off. Just as you would love to see Foxtel go off if C1 crapped out.

Oh I don't hate UBI either. I see what they are trying to do and have done in the past. To me it was a big slap in the face to all past customers. That they went down the tubes then just a few weeks later restarted up.

and i've never bought into the story various people have told about Pas /Murdoch stomping them.

anyway this going around in circles we have discussed this all before.

let's move on.

This is my first letter here on this forum so please excuse me if I make a mistake. I joined this Forum so I could make a comment about what was said in controversy corner about another male bashing ad but what has attracted me is what the adminstrator P Debono said by the look of it trying to find skilled workers in Greece.
Well I can tell you this. My Husband's company subcontracts for Transfields doing high voltage work. They won a contract to run high voltage lines on poles, under ground etc. Now this was during the Olympics construction time and he did nothing but complain that to hire the correct people was a case of mission impossible. So he blamed the Olympics because of the rush and panic to get he Olympic village finished on time.
But forget that. I will talk about now, yes 2005. My Husband is back there trying to finish a project that they are 6 months behind and they have had nothing but trouble, mistake after mistake, contractors are forever not arriving on site on the day required, wrong material arriving on the site. Now he could be unlucky but his exact words when this subyard is finished, never again NEVER AGAIN.
