Let's stir the pot, shall we.

I have been quite intrigued with this whole moon landing hoax issue. I have watched several documentaries about it (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Moon, Dark Side of the Moon, etc.) which has stirred my skepticism.

Is there any piece of indesputable proof that "man" set foot on the moon?

It is getting a little old, but how can it be dead? :huh I searched and read most of the debates a year ago and I see far more links now than ever.

The last intriguing piece of information for me was: then what about the mirrors the astronauts put on the moon for reflecting lasers? That was the last bit of info that kept me thinking that maybe there was definitive proof. But then I read that mirrors were placed by the Russians via an unmanned probe, so it is not necessary to place them with human hands. But is this true?

I am not even CLOSE to as versed as you are on the science of space :noo . I love to hear about it from people that are versed though, since it is not my area of expertise

Perhaps the whole moon landing issue comes down to the same thing as metaphysics as far as tangible proof. You have to just believe what other people are saying is true. With metaphysics though, you can explore it yourself to see if it is true.

The only problem with believing the moon landing is the desperation of the U.S. at the time the landings happened coupled with the questionable proof and touched up photos.

I am not really into conspiracy theories on the whole (just like to think about all things mysterious) and I think people are generally good creatures. The main thing that I don't like about the moon landing defenders is the shaming attitude many of them depict toward anyone questioning this "authority". One minute we are being told there are no "stupid" questions, and the next we are being told we are stupid if we question.

I truly believe there are no stupid questions. However, I do get frustrated with those that constantly try to debunk metaphysics, so I can understand moon landing supporters from that respect. Perhaps it is best to then admit that there is no definitive proof and that it is up to each person to decide for themselves whether to believe.

There either is definitive proof or there is not. If not, then it is a matter of belief. But to have to believe rather than "know" definitely changes my paradigm about the moon landing.
